CADRe (Consent & Disclosure Recommendations)
The CADRe Working Group aims to explore the ethical, legal, and social (ELSI) issues relating to reporting the actionability of particular genes/variants in the clinical care process.
- Evaluate curated genes and variants for potential ELSI-related contextual issues regarding their clinical implementation.
- Seek the advice of ethicists, education experts, patient advocates, medical geneticists, laboratory directors and genetic counselors to develop an evaluation rubric.
- Make recommendations for genes and variants with special implications for pre-test and post-test education and counseling.
- Employ surveys to assess the responses of stakeholders to the proposed processes for gene and variant pre- and post-test counseling
