Lumping and Splitting
The Lumping and Splitting Working Group (LSWG) is comprised of clinicians, laboratorians, nosologists, ontologists and biocurators. Our goal is to support the curation process by providing guidance for biocurators and experts in delineating the most appropriate disease entity(ies) for classification. We also actively engage in discussions with OMIM and Monarch Initiative, nosological and ontological authorities, respectively, harmonize disease categorization and classification for the greater community.
For questions on lumping and splitting or on how to define a disease entity, please contact Courtney Thaxton at firstname.lastname@example.org
